Skoda Key - Simply Clever Features to Make Your Life Easier
Skoda’s greatest strength is the satisfaction of its drivers. This is a real and quantifiable asset that we can share and leverage in the market.
Proximity Lock-and-Unlock: Our keys detect your presence and allow you to unlock the door when you are near and lock when you walk away. Apple integrated for tracking cars. The shell is stylish and durable, with a simple-to-hold design.
Keyless Entry
Twisting keys in the lock is disappearing from the past, and many new vehicles now have keyless entry. This means that you can lock the car by pressing a button on a fob or by grasping the door handle, meaning that your hands are free and that you don't have to look through your bag looking for keys.
The system operates by emitting the radio signal, which is picked up by the key fob which then sends a response signal back to the car. This is then recognized by the car and it will normally unlock the doors or switch on the interior lighting (if it is programmed to do this).
Some variations of keyless entry do not require any kind of fob and instead use an app on a smartphone which can transmit an electronic signal directly to the car. This is also referred to as a phone-as key, or a digital-key. It's an excellent way to allow other drivers to access your car without having to hand over the keys.
There have been cases of car thefts using keyless entry systems. To stop this from happening you should consider purchasing an anti-theft device for your key fob, called Secure-A-Key. This will electronically disable the battery in the remote control if it isn't moved for several minutes, making it harder to steal the car.
Start and Exit System
If you're heading back to your car with a muddy coat from the football field or a wet shopping bag, Skoda's Simply Clever features are here to assist. This includes a clever boot mat that doubles as a second side in the Karoq made of fabric on one side and plastic on the other, protecting the floor from getting dirty or wet.
The modern keyless entry system, also known as the KESSY control unit has an extra layer of security to protect your vehicle. The system ensures that the correct key is used to start the engine and, if it is not the immobilizer will be activated. This blocks various actions to stop the car from starting, such as disabling the fuel pump, ignition coil, or injectors.
If the immobilizer is on, you'll see a warning light on the dashboard. This is a serious issue and you should seek out a specialist for a diagnosis.
Modern keyless entry systems are defended by a range of sensors, which includes door handle detectors. This sensor is situated inside the front door and is waiting for a trigger, like the insertion of the key or pressing a button on the tailgate. If the trigger is recognized by the car's control system, it will unlock the doors and start the engine. The Kodiaq Superb Octavia Enyaq and Enyaq all feature similar Area View system that uses cameras to show different views of the immediate area of your car on the in-car screen.
Remote Control Window Winding
If the window winding on your skoda key isn't functioning correctly, it could be due to a defective switch or faulty motor. In the event of a defective switch, use an instrument to test for continuity in the power and ground wires that are connected to the motor in the window. It is ideal to have power to both when you press the switch. If not, it is likely that the switch has a fault.
If you are not able to fix the issue, it is best to seek assistance from an auto electrician. They should be able to repair the window winding on your skoda Octavia and ensure that everything is in good working order. You can also ask an skoda dealer in your area about the problem.
Electric windows function in the same way as manual windows, however they have a motor that rotates them upwards or downwards instead of a handle. The motor is connected through two circuits to the window switches: one switch position and the circuit drive it in one direction (window up) and the second switch position and the circuit drive it the opposite direction (window down). The switch contacts are connected to the power supply which is then wired to a motor that does the actual winding. The motor rotates a gear that engages gear teeth on a massive plate when the window is raised. When the window is lowered the gear disengages and the handle is move freely.
Multi-function steering wheel
To keep both hands on the wheel and both eyes on the road, many functions have been transferred from the dashboard or console onto the steering wheel. Radio controls cruise control operation, radio controls and many other functions are integrated into the steering wheel, an intelligent approach that improves safety of the car for both the driver and passengers.
The new two-spoke steering wheel was introduced in the fourth generation of the OCTAVIA and is currently installed on all SKODA models. It's modern, stylish, and ergonomic and allows for various variations including a 3-spoke version.
"We wanted to keep the center of the steering wheel as clear as possible, both to make the logo stand out and keep the feeling of clutter away," says designer Marwan Khiat. The steering wheel features 14 buttons for controlling the functions of the vehicle, and all of them are clearly labelled. The buttons can be operated with one click. This makes it easy to use, and you don't have to get your hands off the steering wheel.
The steering wheel can also be equipped with controls for air conditioning and an option for heating in the winter months. In addition, it is compatible with the CAN bus system to enable integration of multimedia functions like radio, Bluetooth and a USB connection.

Ambient Lighting
You can shut all of your windows with just a single button. This makes it simple to get in the car during a hot day and cool off in no time at all. This same function can be used to synchronise the operation of your sunroof and make sure it shuts when you lock the car.
You can customize your interior by changing the colour illumination of the sides or the dashboard. Based on your mood, you can choose from a palette of 10 colours and intensities to create the ideal ambience.
LED lighting is more efficient and produces less heat than incandescent bulbs. This reduces the energy consumption and CO2 emissions of your vehicle.
In an emergency, you may send your vehicle's location report along with other important data to an emergency centre. The information will help rescue services locate your car and assist in the fastest response. This is only one of the many services offered by eCall that you can activate or renew using the MySkoda application.
Umbrella Storage
Have you ever been sucked in by the weather without an umbrella? That's unlikely be a problem if you own a Skoda Superb Combi. Each of the front doors, minus for the driver's door, comes with a compartment that is the ideal size for an umbrella. You can avoid getting wet when you exit at an intersection.
It's a small detail but it really makes a difference. When Get Source open the door the umbrella will be there waiting for you. When you're driving, it'll remain in the distance and not get in your way. This is only one of the many clever features that show how many hours of thought went into Skoda.
Other Simply Clever solutions include a tablet holder for the rear passenger seats, as well as the drink holder at each of the front doors, so you can keep your drinks to hand. You can even fill up your washer's fluid with help of funnels.
And then there's the clever solution that allows you cool your car down after a long journey by automatically closing all the windows when you press the unlock button on the key fob. It's a unique feature that helps reduce stress while driving.
